The Invisible Wounds of Children Exposed to Gunfire

New technology is revealing that the United States is awash in gunfire – perhaps four or five times more shooting incidents, and 25 to 50 more bullets fired, than prior estimates calculated. And a burgeoning area of science is revealing that children exposed to it will often not only suffer a lifetime of mental difficulties, but also often die early of obesity, cancer, and lung and heart disease. We look at the poisonous effects gun violence may be having on both the brain and body.
